FAQs Patent Questions

Question:How do I access sequences for a particular document?

Answer:
In order to access the sequence information for a patent or published application, you may submit the document number via the PSIPS home page. The PSIPS document detail page will then show you the number of sequences (SEQ ID NOs.) within the selected Sequence Listing. You will have the opportunity to view one or more sequences, or download the entire Sequence Listing.

Question:How can I obtain patent application drawing information?

Answer:
The Guide for the Preparation of Patent Drawings is currently out of print. This publication, when available, can be ordered from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402, or you may call 202 512-1800. The Guide to Filing A Utility Patent Application also contains information on drawing requirements.

Question:The inventors assistance center provides patent information.

Answer:
Provides patent information and services to the public. The IAC is staffed by former Supervisory Patent Examiners and experienced Primary Examiners who answer general questions concerning patent examining policy and procedure.
